LG Q6 launches in Korea, to soon release worldwide

LG Electronics (LG) announced the launch of the first smartphone from its new Q series, the Q6, in Korea starting from the week of 31 July to 6 August. Featuring a 5.5-inch FHD+ Full Vision display, the LG Q6 has a mid-range price point and will also soon be released in markets in Asia, Europe, Middle East and the Americas in the weeks to come.

The phone is powered by Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS and features an Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, 13-Megapixel and 5-Megapixel cameras, micro SD card slot which supports up to 256 GB, and internal memory in three variants corresponding to three phone models Q6+, Q6, and Q6α: 16 GB, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB, 3 GB RAM and 64 GB, 4 GB RAM. It's available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, Mystic White, and Terra Gold.

Q6's screen can be divided into two square windows which allows end-users to multitask. It also comes with a feature called Square Camera Mode, which enables the merging of two images into one and the creation of square grid collages. It has a metal frame constructed of 7000 series aluminum with rounded corners to dissipate impact energy when dropped, the company said in a press release. The LG Q6 is also rugged as it was built in accordance with the MIL-STD 810G standards. It also comes with a battery which was also subjected to extra harsh testing process, and a thermal pad cooling system. 

G6 was the first smartphone to offer LG’s FullVision display.
