LG to launch Q6 smartphone with FullVision display

LG Electronics has announced that the LG Q6, part of its new Q series, will be the first smartphone to offer the FullVision display following the LG G6. LG’s Q series is the company’s latest line of mid-range smartphones. The Q6 family consists of the Q6+, Q6 and Q6α. The Q6+ comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, the base Q6 delivers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and the Q6α comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB of ROM.

As the first in the Q series to be announced, the LG Q6 features 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision display and 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 mobile platform, and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. The Q6+ will be available in Astro Black / Ice Platinum / Marine Blue color versions, while the Q6 will come in Astro Black / Ice Platinum / Mystic White / Terra Gold colors. The Q6α will be on sale in Astro Black / Ice Platinum / Terra Gold color versions.

The LG G6 will go on sale in key markets in Asia starting August, to be followed by availability in Europe, Latin America and North America onward.

LG Electronics (LG) announced the launch of the first smartphone from its new Q series, the Q6, in Korea starting from the week of 31 July to 6 August. LG mobile back in the red in Q2 as premium smartphone sales disappoint

LG Electronics saw its mobile phone business fall back in the red in the second quarter, after a small profit in Q1. With weak sales in the premium smartphone market and an increase in raw material costs, the mobile business had a quarterly operating loss of KRW 132.4 billion (USD 117.3 million). After a positive operating margin of 0.1 percent in Q1, LG Mobile was back at a negative 4.9 percent in Q2, similar to the minus 4.1 percent a year ago.

LG launches Q8 smartphone, a mini V20

LG announced the launch of a new quad-HD smartphone with a 5.2-inch screen, the LG Q8. The Q8 has similar specifications to LG's 5.7-inch V20 model, such as a secondary screen, quad-DAC hi-fi sound and the Snapdragon 820 processor and adds water and dust resistance.

LG Electronics posts Q2 sales up 4%, higher operating profit

LG Electronics reported higher second-quarter results in its preliminary report. Revenues are expected to be 3.9 percent higher at nearly KRW 13.6 trillion, and the operating profit is expected up 13.6 percent year-on-year to KRW 664 billion. Compared to the first quarter, the results are down respectively 0.7 and 27.9 percent.
