LG Electronics reported higher second-quarter results in its preliminary report. Revenues are expected to be 3.9 percent higher at nearly KRW 13.6 trillion, and the operating profit is expected up 13.6 percent year-on-year to KRW 664 billion. Compared to the first quarter, the results are down respectively 0.7 and 27.9 percent.
The company will report final results later this month. Key will be whether it has been able to keep its mobile division in the black, after returning the activities to nearly breakeven in Q1. While the company has been holding its own in the mid-range smartphone market, it has done less well in breaking through in the premium segment with its latest flagship, the G6.
