LG to unveil smart speaker lineup at CES
LG Electronics (LG) said it will showcase at CES 2018 a smarter lineup of premium audio products. The new lineup includes various products, from immersive Dolby Atmos soundbars to portable Bluetooth speakers and its latest artificial intelligence (AI) speaker with Google Assistant built in.

LG will also announce its first premium smart AI audio product, the LG ThinQ Speaker, at CES. The device not only produces high-quality sound but comes with Google Assistant built in. LG teamed up with Google to ensure that the LG ThinQ Speaker delivers all the conveniences which come with having a digital assistant. LG ThinQ Speaker is both a smart companion as well as a personalised voice-activated interface for LG’s smart home appliances. For example, the LG ThinQ Speaker can be set to turn on an LG appliance with the spoken command, 'OK Google, talk to LG, turn on the air purifier'.

The speaker also comes with advanced sound thanks to Meridian Audio technology. LG ThinQ Speaker’s High Resolution Audio is compatible with high-quality lossless files, giving it the ability to recreate sounds that were originally recorded in the studio.

LG’s new SK10Y soundbar also has advanced sound features thanks to Meridian Audia technology. It delivers 550W of output and supports 5.1.2 channels with Dolby Atmos technology. The technology means that unique "sound objects" can be precisely placed anywhere in a three-dimensional space for an immersive sound from all directions. The device also supports full connectivity to hubs, speakers and other smart devices with Chromecast. End-users need to say 'OK Google' and then request to begin playing favourite songs, podcasts or audio clips from their favourite online streaming service.
