Microsoft raises dividend 22%, extends share buyback
Microsoft has announced a big increase in its dividends and plans to spend up to USD 40 billion buying back shares. The company increased the quarterly dividend by 22 percent to USD 0.28 per share; the next payment will be in mid-December. The share repurchase programme was authorised by the board for an indefinite period and replaces the previous programme of the same amount, which was set to expire on 30 September.
