Moscow court imposes new RUB 6 mln fine on Facebook

A judge from the the Taganka municipal region of the city of Moscow has imposed a fine on Facebook of RUB 6 million, reports Prime. The company was fined after claims made by regulator Roskmnadzor. The company was fined for failing to remove content considered illegal in Russia.

Russian courts imposed a fine of RUB 26 million on the company in May and of RUB 17 million in June.

A judge from the Moscow munipality of Taganka has imposed a RUB 17 million fine on Twitter, reports Rosbalt.ru. The social network was fined for the repeatedly not storing the personal data of its Russian users in the country.

Google, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram face new take-down cases in Moscow court

Ten new claims against Google, Facebook, Twitter and Telegram have been registered in the Moscow Justice of the Peace office, reports Interfax. The cases allege that the internet platforms don't meet the requirements on taking down content prohibited by Russian law. If the court confirms the violations, Telegram would face up to RUB 16 million in fines, Google RUB 12 million, and Twitter and Facebook each RUB 8 millionk.

Google gets last warning on content removal, Facebook, Google fined in Russia

Russian federal telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor has sent a warning to Google, asking the company to remove content which violates Russian legal requirements, reports Tass. The content should be removed within a day, otherwise traffic will be slowed.

Facebook faces new fines in Russia after refusing takedown orders

Four additional cases from Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor against Facebook have arrived at the Moscow Taganka tribunal, reports Interfax. No deliberation date has been set yet. The cases cover the social network's refusal to remove content banned by Russian law. If the appeals are upheld, the company could face fines up to RUB 16 million.

Russian watchdog imposes fines on Google, Facebook, Twitter

Russian federal competition regulator Roskomnadzor has concluded sixteen decisions on refusals to remove content prohibited in Russia by Google, Facebook and Twitter, reports Cnews.ru. The companies could face fines totaling up to RUB 24 million. Six decisions are related to Twitter and five decisions are connected to each of Google and Facebook.
