MTS launches LTE network in Moscow
Russian mobile operator MTS has launched commercial LTE services in Moscow and 40 towns in the Moscow region, with modems available at its shops across the region. The MTS Connect internet package costs RUB 2,000 and includes free services for 15 days, while unlimited access is offered until the end of September with a package costing RUB 2,970. The network of the operator works under the Single Ran principle and supports GSM, 3G and LTE technologies using equipment from Nokia Siemens Networks. MTS plans to spend around USD 30 million on the expansion of its LTE network in order to cover 96 percent of the region's area.
