New Galaxy Note 7 arrives in Korea ahead of global launch

Samsung said that new Galaxy Note 7 devices will soon be available worldwide. In Korea, sales started in 1 October, with other markets set to follow suit in the coming weeks. Samsung on 30 September opened a number of Galaxy Note 7 experience zones across Korea so that people could explore the phone and new features such as the iris scanner, upgraded S Pen, S Translator and the camera.

The new Galaxy Note 7 has three specific software changes affecting the battery indication. The device features a green battery icon that’s visible on the Status Bar, the Always On Display screen and the Power Off prompt screen, accessed by long-pressing the power key. Users can also easily check they’re using the latest Galaxy Note7 by looking for a square symbol on the label of the phone’s packaging.

Samsung reiterated its call to Galaxy Note 7 users who have not yet participated in the exchange programme. The company asked these to immediately do so by contacting their place of purchase or calling a designated local call centre as soon as possible.

Samsung dismisses concerns of overheating replacement Note 7

Samsung Netherlands to deliver first Note 7s on 10 October

Samsung Netherlands announced that it will deliver the first replacement devices for the Galaxy Note 7 on 10 October. Samsung starts Note 7 replacements in South Korea

Samsung has started the recall of Galaxy Note7 phablets in South Korea. Samsung Electronics distributed 100,000 new Note 7 units to smartphone vendors run by SK Telecom, KT and LG U+, Korea Joongang Daily reports. No official data has been released as to how many recalls were made on the first day.
