New HTC One Max to feature fingerprint sensor - report
HTC is planning to introduce the HTC One Max, equipped with a fingerprint sensor, on 15 October, two people familiar with the matter said, reported The Wall Street Journal. The company has not unveiled which applications the fingerprint sensor will have or if it will be able to authorise app purchases or other transactions. The HTC One Max will run on the Google Android operating system and will feature a 5.9-inch display as well as features similar to the flagship HTC One, said one of the people familiar with the matter.

Play offers HTC Desire 500, changes prices on HTC One

Polish operator P4, operating under the brand Play, introduced the HTC Desire 500 smartphone. It is available from PLN 1 to PLN 759, depending on the tariff plan selected. The price with prepaid is PLN 1,199, and the standard price without promotion is PLN 1,319. At the same time, Play changed the prices of the HTC One. It will be available from PLN 1 to PLN 1,669, with prepaid at PLN 2,599 and at the standard price of PLN 2,719.

HTC posts Q3 loss, sales down more than expected

HTC recorded a net loss of TWD 2.97 billion for the third quarter, on revenues down to TWD 47.05 billion. The operating loss was TWD 3.50 billion. The smartphone maker showed a small improvement in sales in September, which rose 38 percent from the previous month to TWD 18.15 billion. Overall, quarterly sales were still less than the TWD 50-60 billion predicted by the company and TWD 70.7 billion in the second quarter. HTC will release a full quarterly report later this month.
