Nokia to release phablet, Lumia with 40 mp camera - report
Nokia plans to enter the 'phablet' segment this year with a new Lumia device similar in size but with more advanced specifications than the Samsung Galaxy Note, people with knowledge of the company's plans told the Financial Times. Nokia is also expected to launch the first Lumia smartphone using its Pureview imaging technology. The handset being considered for a July launch will have a 40 megapixel camera and flash, people with familiar with the matter said. Other launches being prepared include an upgraded and lighter version of last year's Lumia 920. Nokia declined to comment.

Nokia verkoopt 5,6 miljoen Lumia-smartphones in Q1

Nokia heeft over het eerste kwartaal van dit jaar een omzet gerealiseerd van 5,85 miljard euro, een daling van 20 procent op jaarbasis. Op kwartaalbasis bedroeg de daling 27 procent. Het Finse handsetbedrijf leed een verlies van 150 miljoen euro. Nokia maintains small opg profit as Lumia sales up 27% in Q1

Nokia reported a continued decline in results in the first quarter, but managed to maintain a small operating profit and improve sales of its flagship Lumia smartphones. Revenues fell 20 percent from a year earlier to EUR 5.85 billion, while the adjusted operating result was a profit of EUR 181 million versus a loss of EUR 258 million a year ago. Small signs of optimism appearing at Nokia

Nokia will report its first-quarter results on 18 April. Its results for the last quarter of 2012 showed some small signs of hope: a small profit, growing sales of the Lumia Windows smartphones and a recovery at Nokia Siemens Networks. The company still faces a number of challenges though, including slow uptake of Windows Phone.

Nokia expands low-end Lumia range with 520, 720 launch

Nokia announced new low- and mid-range Lumia smartphones at the Mobile World Congress. The Lumia 720 is a mid-range device with advanced camera. It will be available in five colors, with an estimated starting price of EUR 249 before taxes and subsidies. Roll-out is planned to start in Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore in Q1, before continuing into other markets in Q2, including China as well as key markets in Europe, Asia, Africa and India.
