OEMs to pre-install BBM on Android smartphones
BlackBerry has announced that BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) will soon come preinstalled on a variety of Android-based smartphones from leading OEMs across Africa, India, Indonesia, Latin America and the Middle East. Beginning in December, Android smartphones from Be, Brightstar, Celkon, Evercross, IMO, Micromax, Mito, Snexian, Spice, Tecno, TiPhone and Zen will include BBM preinstalled. 

In addition, BlackBerry confirmed that BBM will also continue to be available as a free download from Android app stores, including Google Play. BBM allows users to chat with contacts one-to-one, in multiple chats or as part of a BBM Group. BBM also features Delivered and Read statuses, message-in-progress notices and allows users to share files such as photos and voice notes. Every BBM user has a unique Pin tied to their BlackBerry ID to help ensure privacy. In the coming months, BlackBerry will plans to release updates to include support for BBM Channels, a new service that will connect BBM users to communities of shared interests as well as support for BBM voice and video calling.

Indian smartphone maker Micromax has introduced its first octa-core smartphone: the Canvas Knight A350. The smartphone features a full aluminium body and is powered by MediaTek's 2 GHz MT6592T processor, runs on Android 4.2.2, and features a 5-inch IPS display. The phone also comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera, 32 GB of internal storage, a 2350 mAh battery, and comes with a Yamaha Amplifier. Micromax priced the Canvas Knight A350 at INR 19,999.

UAE operators Etisalat and Du has stopped BlackBerry's newly launched BBM Channels social media service, only 14 days after its launch. BlackBerry interim CEO reassures Enterprise customers

In an open a letter to Enterprise customers, BlackBerry interim CEO John Chen has reassured them that the company is 'here to stay'.
