OnePlus launches 7T smartphone, first TV in India

OnePlus has unveiled its new OnePlus 7T smartphone. The device offers some of the features of the OnePlus 7 Pro launched in May, such as a 90Hz screen and triple camera, along with a faster processor and charging and Android 10 pre-installed. The company has launched the new smartphone in the US and India first, with a European launch event to follow on 10 October.

New features on the 7T designed to make customers upgrade include the faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, Android 10, an improved in-display fingerprint sensor and the Warp Charge 30T system. The latter promises a full charge of the 3,800 mAh battery in an hour, or 23 percent faster than the Warp Charge 30 on its previous generation of phones.

The phone features a 6.55-inch Amoled screen with 90Hz refresh and up to 1,000 nits brightness. The redesigned matte glass body comes with a circular ring design surrounding the triple camera on the back. The phone will be available in the new colours Frosted Silver and Glacial Blue. The 7T also comes with support for HDR10+ imaging and UFS 3.0 storage for fast file transfers.

The triple camera on the back appears the same as the OnePlus 7 Pro, with a 48-megapixel main Sony sensor with OIS and f/1.6 aperture plus a 2x zoom lens and a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens. OnePlus said the camera also includes a new macro mode for close-ups and an improved Nightscape mode.

The phone starts at INR 37,999 for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and costs INR 39,999 for 256 GB storage. In the US, the phone is priced at USD 599 and will be available exclusively through T-Mobile US.

OnePlus also unveiled at the Indian event its first TV. The 55-inch QLED 4K device running the Android TV OS will launch first in India on Amazon. The basic edition costs INR 69,90 and a 'pro' model is priced at INR 99,900.
