Openreach drops wholesale prices for FTTP broadband services

Openreach will introduce a number of wholesale price reductions to make its FTTP services more attractive to UK ISPs.  The largest price cut (-36%) will come into effect from 01 September for the 'Ultrafast' 330 Mbps product, which will cost GBP 24.28 per month (excluding VAT), compared with GBP 38 previously. Among the other reductions, 'Ultrafast' 110 Mbps and 'Superfast' 40 Mbps connections will benefit from cuts of 20 percent and 10 percent respectively.

Openreach said that the new prices will be available to all ISPs under the same conditions and without minimum volume commitments. It also announced plans for new 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps variants within its FTTP product range later in the financial year 2019/20, adding that they will be introduced with attractive pricing to appeal to consumers and home workers.

More than 1.5 million homes and businesses across the UK have access to FTTP broadband services over the Openreach network.
