Fixed operator Romtelecom and mobile operators Cosmote Romania and Zapp will merge in September under the brand Telekom Romania, according to local publication Economica.net citing market sources. Cosmote will operate under the Telekom Romania Mobil brand, while Romtelecom will provide services under the Telekom Romania Fix brand. Earlier reports said that Romtelecom and Cosmote may adopt the T brand of parent company Deutsche Telekom. In May, shareholders of OTE approved an agreement for its subsidiaries Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania to take a licence to use Deutsche Telekom's branding.
