Austrian telecoms regulator RTR will examine the new mobile tariffs launched by newspapers 'Kurier' and 'Krone' for a potential breach of new EU net neutrality guidelines, reports 'Der Standard'. This follows complaints from network activists, who argue that a zero-rating policy offering free access to their own news portals will put other providers at a disadvantage.
RTR told the paper that it would examine the new products over the coming weeks to see if they breach net neutrality regulations.
