Samsung said it has teamed up with designer Sami Miro to come up with a limited-edition version of its Galaxy Watch 4 band. The Galaxy Watch 4 x Sami Miro Vintage collection features six watchbands made of eco-friendly materials and three watchfaces. Describing the collection as its first sustainably-sourced product range, Samsung said the Stratus Sky and Midnight Black versions of the watches are made from an innovative apple peel skin material sourced from waste recovered from the fruit industry.
The new Android-based watches offer the “premium look of leather”, but are “completely vegan and cruelty free,” added Samsung. The other bands – Aurora Night, Cloud Navy, Earth Sunrise and Dawn Atlas – are comprised of an eco-friendly TPU material that is non-toxic, non-plasticized and can be recycled when the time comes.
A limited quantity of the Galaxy Watch 4 x Sami Miro Vintage sustainable watchband collection is already available at a starting price of USD 39.99, while the three complimentary watchfaces can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
