Samsung to seek iPhone 5 ban in Korea - report

Samsung Electronics will seek a complete ban on sales of the upcoming Apple iPhone 5 in Korea, the Korea Times citing sources familiar with the matter. At least 23 lawsuits are pending between Apple and Samsung in such countries as France, Japan, Germany, Korea and the US over alleged infringement of each other's patents. A senior executive from Samsung Electronics told the paper that Samsung intends to file a new claim of patent infringement against Apple shortly after the arrival of the iPhone 5. Another Samsung executive said the company was changing tactics against Apple, in order to take more pre-emptive action. Korea's two mobile operators KT and SK Telecom have already sold over 3 million iPhones. The iPhone 5 is expected to debut later this year in Korea with the two carriers.
