
Samsung has unveiled two new smartphones in its mid-range A series. The Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 cost from EUR 349 for the 4G models, and a 5G version of the A52 also will be available in selected markets. They feature quad rear cameras and near edge-less displays, with a choice of violet, blue, black or white colours.
The Galaxy A52 is priced at EUR 349 for the 128GB version and EUR 409 for 256GB, and the 5G version is EUR 429. The Galaxy A72 will cost from EUR 449.
The A52 comes with a 6.5-inch Amoled display with 2,400x1,080 resolution and a pinhole front camera of 32 megapixels. The main rear camera is a 64-megapixel sensor, supported by a 12-megapixel ultra wide angle, 5-megapixel macro and 5-megapixel depth sensor. It runs a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor, 4,500 mAh battery and 4, 6 or 8 GB RAM depending on the model.
The A72 offers a slightly larger 6.7-inch screen and enhanced optical zoom on the camera. It comes with 6 or 8 GB RAM and 128 or 256 GB storage, with a 5,000 mAh battery. All the phones have a dual Sim slot that can also support microSD cards up to 1 TB, Android 11 and 25W fast charging.
Samsung said the A series phones will come with three generations of Android updates and a minimum four years of security updates.
