
French mobile operator SFR has appointed Michel Paulin as CEO and announced a new executive committee. Paulin, currently CEO of Moroccan operator Meditel, will take up the position in the second quarter. Paulin spent most of his career in the telecom industry. He started at France Telecom, then joined McKinsey as a strategy consultant in France and the US before joining Bull. He was hired by LDCom in 1999 and became the company’s CEO. He was played a key role in the merger of Neuf Cegetel (previously LDCom) and SFR in 2008. Paulin then joined Louis Dreyfus Commodities as COO before moving to Meditel.
SFR’s executive committee consists of chairman Michel Combes, executive director for consumer Jean-Pascal Van Overbeke, executive director for enterprise Guillaume de Lavallade, executive director for operators Eric Pradeau, executive director for networks Philippe Le May, executive director for process and QoS Emeric Dont, executive director for IT systems Christophe Delaye, executive director for human resources Florence Cauvet, executive director of finance Thierry Lemaitre, company secretary Regis Turrini and deputy CEO Jerome Yomtov. The new members of the executive committee will take their positions by the end of the first quarter.
