
Silent Circle said its customer base already counts consumers in over 130 countries, 23 of the global Fortune 50 enterprises and governments from 11 nations. Silent Circle also announced that it is relocating its global headquarters from the Caribbean island of Nevis to Switzerland. The company also has offices outside Washington, DC and in London and data centres in Canada and Switzerland. Silent Circle said Switzerland's "strong privacy laws, legendary neutrality and economic business advantages" support its efforts to offer secure, private communications.
In addition, Silent Circle confirmed the Blackphone, developed with Spain's Geeksphone and first unveiled in January, will start shipping in June. It features PrivatOS, a privacy-enhanced operating system built on Android and a full suite of privacy-enabled applications, including Silent Phone and Silent Text.
