Sony brings Google TV to Europe
Sony confirmed plans to bring devices based on the Google TV platform to Europe. The first is the NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV, originally introduced in January at the CES trade show. The Internet Player will be available in stores from July, priced at GBP 200/EUR 200. Sales will initially start with the UK in July, followed later by Canada, Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil and Mexico. The NSZ-GP9 Blu-ray Disc player with Google TV will be available in October initially in the US, followed by Canada, Australia, the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. It's priced at GBP 280/EUR 300. Users can connect these devices to their TV via HDMI to watch TV broadcasts and online video, access apps and games from Google Play, and browse the internet with the Google Chrome browser. Both devices feature a remote control equipped with a touch pad, full keyboard with back light, microphone for voice search and 3-axis motion sensor for games.
