The attack at Sony Pictures Entertainment in November, thought to be related its film 'The Interview', resulted in serious damage to hardware and IT systems at the company and compromised data on the systems. Sony shut down the systems as a result and said it does not expect to have many of its critical reporting systems back online until early February at the earliest.
Sony had planned to release the results 04 February. It still plans a trading update and analyst meeting that day when it will also update its full-year outlook. The company noted that it does not expect a material impact on results from the cyberattack.
