Soyuz rocket to launch 36 more OneWeb satellites on 25 March

Arianespace has released details of its next Soyuz mission, which is scheduled from the Vostochny Cosmodrome with 36 OneWeb satellites on board. Flight ST30 is part of the existing launch contract for OneWeb's constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites.

Since early 2019, Arianespace has completed four missions for OneWeb, orbiting 110 satellites, and this latest launch will bring the total fleet to 146. The flight is the second commercial mission performed by Arianespace and its Starsem affiliate from the Vostochny cosmodrome.

Avio, the industrial prime contractor for the Vega and Vega C launchers, has secured a new order from long-standing partner Arianespace. The supply agreement covers ten additional launchers for the Vega C launch vehicle, to be delivered from 2023 onwards. A European Space Agency (ESA) programme, the Vega C launch system is an upgraded version of the current Vega rocket, with its inaugural flight expected later this year.

Arianespace's missions bring in EUR 1 billion in sales across 2020

Arianespace said that its operations generated sales worth EUR 1 billion during 2020, broadly stable compared to 2019. Last year, its rockets completed ten launches and orbited a total of 166 satellites, despite the disruption caused by the pandemic. The company's order backlog is now equal to more than three years of business, amounting to over EUR 3.2 billion when excluding institutional pre-reservations.

Arianespace confirms launch of 36 more OneWeb satellites on 18 December

Arianespace released details of its next Soyuz mission, which as expected will mark the resumption of the OneWeb constellation's deployment. The Soyuz rocket will launch from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia on 18 December, carrying a payload of 36 OneWeb satellites. Scheduled at 21:26 hrs local time, Flight ST29 will be the first commercial mission from Vostochny Cosmodrome performed by Arianespace and its Starsem affiliate.
