Sunrise owner talks with Orange Switzerland bidder - report
CVC Capital Partners has held preliminary talks with Providence Equity Partners about a potential merger of Sunrise and Orange Switzerland if Providence wins the auction for France Telecom's Swiss mobile unit, reports the Financial Times citing three unnamed sources close to the situation. CVC is understood to be open to talks with other bidders for Orange Switzerland. France Telecom has been concerned for some time that Sunrise owner CVC might attempt to disrupt the sale.

France Telecom reached an agreement to sell its unit Orange Switzerland to private equity firm Apax Partners for CHF 2.0 billion. Sunrise owner CVC Capital Partners has met with the Swiss competition regulator (Wettbewerbskommission) for informal talks, according to Swiss newspaper Handelszeitung. France Telecom has received five bids for its subsidiary Orange Switzerland, according to newspaper der Standard citing the company.
