TalkTalk adds 110,000 broadband customers in Q3

TalkTalk Telecom Group registered 110,000 broadband net additions in the third quarter of FY 2013/2014, including 103,000 Post Office customers. It added 175,000 TV customers in Q3 to reach 732,000, with on-net churn falling to 1.6 percent. Total revenue was up 5.1 percent to GBP 436 million in Q3, from GBP 415 million a year earlier, with on-net revenue up 9.6 percent to GBP 320 million, from GBP 292 million, and corporate revenue up 8.8 percent to GBP 87 million, from GBP 80 million. On-net ARPU was up 5.2 percent year-on-year to GBP 26.79, from GBP 25.47. On-net net additions were 107,000 in Q3, including 84,000 Post Office customers. TV customers took 197,000 TVoD pay-per-view movies in Q3. TalkTalk added 24,000 new mobile customers to reach 260,000, and 35,000 new fibre customers to reach 177,000.


Excluding Post Office migrations, broadband net additions were up 7,000 in Q3. Excluding the Post Office base, TalkTalk grew its fully unbundled base by 49,000 customers. The legacy partially unbundled and off-net bases continued to reduce by 26,000 and 16,000 respectively, driving total net adds growth of 7,000. The Post Office contributed a total of 103,000 customers to the customer base, comprising 81,000 fully unbundled customers, 3,000 partially unbundled and 19,000 off-net customers. The total broadband base stood at 4.18 million at end-Q3.
