Telefonica Germany plans LTE roll-out in largest cities
Telefonica Germany invest a three figure millions amount in deploying LTE in Germany's largest cities, according to Telefonica Germany René Schuster in an interview with German magazine Focus. The operator plans to offer commercial LTE in Berlin, Hamburg and the Ruhr area. In July of this year, Telefonica's subsidiary O2 Germany started to offer commercial LTE services in rural areas around Germany.

Telefonica Germany has opened its first O2 store using a new shop concept in Ulm and plans to open similar shops in Hamburg, Berlin, Dortmund and Munich soon. Telefonica Germany will start marketing LTE commercially from 1 July. The operator will market two packages under the O2 LTE fuer Zuhause (O2 LTE at home) brand, offering mobile broadband access for residential and small business customers. Huawei wins LTE equipment deal from Telefonica Germany

Telefonica Germany and Huawei have signed a deal for LTE infrastructure. Under the agreement, Telefonica will deploy LTE networks in several regions around Germany based on Huawei's SingelRan platform. O2 Germany to offer complete LTE broadband, phone packages

Telefonica O2 Germany's Head of Corporate and Legal Affairs, Markus Haas, has said that a launch of LTE mobile broadband services in June was "quite possible", teltarif.de reports. The company announced at a CeBIT press conference that its LTE network would officially launch commercial services on 01 July.
