Allente CEO Bjorn Ivar Moen has been appointed Telenor Sweden CEO from 01 October, succeeding Kaaren Hilsen, and Jonas Gustafsson will take over as CEO of Allente from 01 July 2021, the companies announced. Allente was formed in 2020 by merging Telenor’s Canal Digital television operations with the Viasat Consumer arm of Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT). Hilsen has already been named head of the new Telenor Towers company.
Jukka Leinonen, EVP and head of Nordics at Telenor Group, said Moen knows Telenor well, and his profile, leadership and solid experience make him the right person to lead the Swedish operations back to growth. He added that Hilsen had solidified Telenor Sweden’s position as a major player in the Swedish market.
Moen has spent more than 20 years at Telenor, including roles as CEO of Telenor Broadcast and Canal Digital, and as acting CEO of Telenor Norway.
Gustafsson was previously CFO and head of operations at Allente, and prior to that, CEO of Viasat Consumer and acting CEO for NENT Sweden. Ivan Busk Ginnerup, currently business and financial controller director at Allente, has been appointed the company’s acting CFO.
Allente offers satellite television distribution, streaming packages, and IPTV and fibre broadband services to more than 1 million customers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. It is owned 50-50 by NENT and Telenor. Allente operates on an arm’s length basis as an open platform offering material from different providers.
