Telia Norway is dropping the brand name Get from its ISP and television arm, which it took over when it acquired Get TDC Norway from Danish operator TDC in summer 2018. Telia said it is unifying its branding for TV, broadband and mobile services to make everyday life simpler and to improve customer support. It is offering most mobile subscriptions at half price for three months to welcome Get customers who are not already using its mobile services.
The operator said the brand unification means that old Get customers will gain access to 5G, unlimited mobile data, TV and streaming via fast broadband, smart home products, and wireless broadband. It added that it has 21,000 km of high speed broadband infrastructure.
Telia Norge CEO Stein-Erik Vellan said that group has been providing Telia wireless home broadband via its 4G network but that Get supplies fixed wireless services via Wi-Fi. He said it is natural to bring the group's services under one brand.
The company said it aims to provide products, services and offers that are not available from other operators and which cover every need. There will be a single hotline number for quick and easy call handling. Telia’s 53 Norwegian retail branches can also answer queries about television, internet and mobile services.
Pal Rune Kaalen, head of private market services at Telia Norge, said it already supplies customers getting triple play services from Telia with preferential benefits in the form of extra data, more TV channel points, and internet back-up ("surf guarantee").
The welcome promotion for Get TV and/or broadband customers of three months' half-price mobile service runs until 15 October and applies to its Telia X unlimited data service, among certain other subscriptions. The offer applies to all family members.
