Telkomsel, XL, Indosat join in mobile money initiative
Indonesian mobile operators have partnered in a mobile money initiative. Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), Indosat and XL Axiata launched the "e-money" initiative with the support of the Bank Indonesia, the Jakarta Post reports. Under the initiative customers with a mobile money account with one of the three operators can send money to each other. Telkomsel operates the Tcash mobile wallet, Indosat offers the Dompetku service, and XL operates the XL Tunai mobile money service.

Indosat grows H1 revenues, widens net loss

Indonesian communications provider Indosat widened its net loss in the first half to IDR 231.2 billion from IDR 80.5 billion a year earlier. However, revenues grew 14.2 percent to IDR 11.71 billion, with mobile revenues going up 13.7 percent to IDR 9.57 billion on continued subscriber growth and non-mobile revenues growing 16.3 percent year-on-year to IDR 2.14 billion in the six-month period. Telkom's H1 profit grows 11%

Indonesian communications provider Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) recorded a net income of IDR 7.13 trillion in the first half, up 10.8 percent from IDR 6.43 trillion in the year-ago period. Telkomsel back on track to achieve goals

Indonesian mobile operator Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) says it is back on track to achieve its business targets after the seasonal slump in Q1. In the first quarter, subscriber numbers fell by 4 million due to seasonal trends. XL Axiata to upgrade East Java network

Indonesian mobile operator XL Axiata has begun an improvement project for its mobile network in East Java. The modernisation project will start in Surabaya and then rollout to all districts in East Java. The project, which will upgrade base stations to Single Ran and install new equipment, is expected to be completed by the end of October this year. Similar efforts are undertaken on other islands, the company said. XL Axiata has 8.3 million customers in East Java and operates 3,300 base stations.

Indonesian mobile operator Indosat has opened pre-orders for the BlackBerry Q10 until 24 June. Prepaid customers can buy the device for INR 99,000 with a three-month bundle, which comes with 4 GB of data, 150 on-net minutes, 50 off-net minutes, 500 on-net SMS messages, twelve months of WhatsApp, and three months Super WiFi. Postpaid customers are offered a bundle priced at INR 537.417 per month with 8 GB of data per month and twelve months of Super WiFi access.

Telkom, CT partner on pay TV services

CT Corp and Indonesian communications provider Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) have partnered on pay TV services. Upon closing of the planned transaction, CT and Telkom will have joint ownership in TelkomVision, a unit of Telkom.
