Twitter intros 360-degree video live streaming
Twitter released a new way to see what's happening on Twitter, namely through live 360-degree video. Users can check out live, interactive 360 videos from broadcasters on Periscope. They'll be able to get an inside look with well-known personalities and go behind the scenes at exclusive events.

When users see a video marked with a Live 360 badge, they can interact with it to change what they see by moving their phone or swiping the screen, all while watching live. They can see what’s unfolding behind, above, or below the broadcaster’s view. Although everyone on Twitter and Periscope can watch live 360 videos, currently only selected partners can go live in 360 via Periscope.

The Kudelski Group has signed on to a partnership with Twitter to explore innovation in video technologies. The two companies announced they have agreed to broaden their relationship and pursue projects in "areas of joint interest." Further details of the agreement have not been released. Twitter revenue growth slows to 1% as ad sales drop

Twitter reported a further slowdown in revenue growth in the fourth quarter, as the company struggles to attract ad spending. Sales rose just 1 percent year-on-year in Q4 to USD 717 million, as growth in advertising revenue came to a halt. Ad revenue dipped to USD 638 million versus USD 641 million a year ago. Twitter said it expects revenue growth to continue to lag audience growth in 2017 and is working on refining its product to restore sales.

Hulu, Live Nation to launch VR music TV series

Hulu and Live Nation teamed up to launch a virtual reality music series called "On stage" featuring Lil Wayne and Major Lazer. The TV show can be accessed through Hulu VR app across all major VR devices. Twitter expands revenue sharing scheme to all creators

Twitter is expanding its revenue programmes, enabling creators to sell ads with their videos and share revenue from these ads. YouTube adds live streaming to mobile apps

YouTube announced plans to start offering users of its mobile app the ability to live stream to the site. Following the success of Twitter's Periscope and Facebook Live, the Google video site said users of the Android and iOS YouTube apps can now broadcast live to the site. Twitter halved its net loss in the first quarter as revenues increased 30 percent year-on-year. Twitter wins rights to live stream NFL matches

Twitter has secured a deal to stream live weekly matches from the US National Football League (NFL).
