
UPC Switzerland announced that the UPC TV offering developed by its parent company Liberty Global has passed the mark of 1 million customers, two years after its launch. The interactive TV platform was introduced on the Swiss market in October 2018 after the Tech Summit in the Netherlands and has grown to more than 350,000 UPC TV boxes in Swiss households. The TV platform is also available in the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria, and is being tested in Ireland and the UK.
UPC TV includes a set-top box with 4K ultra HD picture quality, a remote control with voice functions, push-to-TV functionality and the UPC TV App. Viewers can watch over 240 channels, including the MySports One channel, which offers live sports content. Netflix, Starzplay, YouTube and Sky are also part of the package. Users can download 2,000 hours of films and programmes, and store them in the cloud to watch later. Other functions include seven-day replay and the option for every person in the household to create her or his own profile.
