Vectone ends MVNO services in Netherlands

Vectone appears to have ended its MVNO business in the Netherlands. Customers report on social media that the services are unavailable, and the company did not respond to requests for comment. Sales on its Dutch website have ended as well.

The regulator ACM said that Vectone had announced the plans to end service with sufficient notice. Vectone told the regulator that it sent customers SMS twice in early July to inform them that the services would end on 31 July. The ACM has not received any complaints about the company.

Vectone provided prepaid services over the KPN network, with a focus on cheap international calls. Telecompaper estimates that it had around 130,000 Sims at the end of Q1.

The MVNO belongs to UK-based Vectone Mobile Holding, which is active in multiple countries. It also recently halted services in Portugal and Czech republic
