Vodacom Tanzania has announced that Ian Ferrao, the company’s MD, will be stepping down in June. Ferrao has reached the end of his three-year tenure at Vodacom and has opted not to renew his contract and to instead pursue other interests. Vodacom said in a statement that Kenyan operator Safaricom’s head of consumer business unit Sylvia Mulinge will succeed Ferrao as the MD of Vodacom Tanzania.
Mulinge joined Safaricom in 2006. Ferrao remains fully committed to ensuring a smooth transition is achieved as he prepares to hand over the reins by 31 August. Mulinge starts her new role as Vodacom Tanzania Managing Director on 01 June.
