Vodafone NL launches discount brand Hollandsnieuwe
Vodafone Netherlands has launched a new discount brand, Hollandsnieuwe. The brand will have its own technical and commercial back-up, with MVNE Teleena responsible for billing. The new mobile operator will only use online channels and will for the moment not sell any subscriptions via stores. Hollandsnnieuwe wants to differentiate itself by not offering a rate outside the bundle. The brand will offer a postpaid and prepaid deal. Bundles will be offered with 75, 175, 275 and 550 call minutes for monthly fees of EUR 4.50, EUR 7.00, EUR 10.50 and EUR 18.50 respectively. Promotional fares are now in force. The price per minute will differ per bundle: EUR 0.06 per minute or per SMS for a bundle of 75 minutes, EUR 0.04 for the 175 bundle, EUR 0.038 for the 275 bundle, and EUR 0.034 for the 550 bundle. The 275 and 550 bundles are offered with mobile internet, with data charged at EUR 0.038 and EUR 0.034 per MB. The monthly bundle and extra call credit are valid for three months. Customers can also order extra credit if they are almost through their bundle. They are notified when there is only EUR 3.00 left to spend. Vodafone NL told the Telegraaf that it wants 20 percent of the discount market within the next five years, translating into more than one million customers. For this year, Hollandsnieuwe wants to attract more than 100,000 customers.
