Vodafone UK announced that it now includes 4G on all postpaid plans bundled with a handset and has increased data allowances on its new Red Value Bundles. Customers on Red Value Bundles can now also call home from other European countries. The Red Value Bundle gives customers inclusive calls to the UK from Europe, more data and access to a choice of Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or a Now TV Entertainment Pass as part of Vodafone’s Ultimate 4G Entertainment Package.
The new plans will be called 'bundles' rather than pay monthly allowances, to reflect the increased value included, Vodafone said. The offer starts with its Standard Bundles with 500MB or 1GB per month at 4G speeds and a choice of minutes and texts for use in the UK. The Red Bundles offer unlimited calls and texts in the UK and monthly data or 2, 6, 10 or 20 GB. With the Red Value Bundles, data options of 2, 4, 6, 15 or 25 GB are available, as well as a free calls from Vodafone's Europe Zone to the UK. From the 4 GB bundle, customers also can choose a subscription to Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or Now TV Entertainment Pass included in their plan.
Prices for the two-year bundles start at GBP 17 a month with the Standard Bundle and at GBP 26 a month for the Red and Red Value Bundles. As part of the Red Value Bundle, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is available to pre-order from GBP 44 a month giving customers 4 GB when they trade in a working Samsung Galaxy phone. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is available to pre-order for GBP 54 a month with GBP 9 upfront cost and 8 GB data when customers trade in a Galaxy. Also available on this bundle is the HTC One M9 with 4 GB data for GBP 44 a month when trading in an HTC One.
As a promotional offer until 30 June, Vodafone is offering GBP 20 to O2 and EE customers who switch to one of its postpaid plans. Existing customers switching to the new plans pay a one-off fee of GBP 20, unless they upgrade to a plan costing at least GBP 5 more per month.
