YouTube audience reaches over 131 mln in US
YouTube attracted 131.4 million unique viewers in the US in December, confirming its position as the top video website, Nielsen figures show. Vevo was far behind with 39.7 million viewers, followed by Yahoo! with 36.7 million, Facebook with 26.5 million, MSN/Bing at 23 million, AOL at 20.6 million and the CollegeHumour Network and Hulu tied at 19.3 million each. YouTube was also in the lead in terms of number of streams, with 13.78 billion viewed, followed by Hulu with 757 million and Vevo with 435 million. In terms of time spent per view, Netflix led with an average of just over ten minutes, followed by Hulu and YouTube with just over three minutes. The total online video audience numbered 164.3 million in December, with 22.62 billion streams viewed and an average 138 streams and five minutes per viewer.
