Verizon, Redbox to launch subscription streaming service

Verizon and Redbox have partnered to launch an alternative home video service to Netflix. Expected to launch in the second half of this year, the yet-to-be-named service will offer DVD rentals by post from Redbox along with a new subscription-based streaming video service. The companies said the national service will allow consumers to "enjoy the new and popular entertainment they want, whenever they choose, using the media and devices they prefer".
