Total average price per Mbps drops below EUR 1.00
This Research Brief covers the Telecompaper Western European Broadband Pricing, which summarizes a survey of 1,574 broadband, dual play and triple play subscriptions offered across 15 Western European countries.
For the first time the total average price of the 15 Western European countries examined drops below EUR 1.00 per Mbps. Furthermore, triple play and triple play flat-rate still offer the best price/speed deal, offering a 16 percent higher price with a 23 percent higher speed than average. Consumers continued to be best off with a FTTx connection, where available, offering an average price per Mbps of EUR 0.53 compared to EUR 2.12 per Mbps for ADSL. Also, Sweden still offers the highest average speed (138.60 Mbps) as well as the lowest average price per Mbps, while Norway, Switzerland, Ireland and Denmark offer least value for money (on average price per Mbps).
