Price per Mbps keeps dropping; Sweden, Portugal and France take the lead
Out of the 15 Western European countries examined, triple play flat-rate still offered the best price/speed deal, offering a 15 percent higher price with a 38 percent higher speed than average. Consumers continued to be best off with a FTTx connection, where available, offering an average price per Mbps of EUR 0.60 compared to EUR 2.11 per Mbps for ADSL. Since Q1 2011 Sweden, France, Portugal still offer the lowest price per Mbps, Germany (since Q2) and Austria (Q4) also offered an average price per Mbps below EUR 1.00. Also, Sweden still offers the highest average speed (136.04 Mbps), and Switzerland, Norway and Ireland offer least value for money (on average).
