The average price per Mbps for fixed broadband service in fifteen Western European countries continues to drop and reached EUR 0.90 per Mbps in Q3 2012. In terms of access technology, consumers were still best off with FTTx connections, which offered an average price per Mbps of EUR 0.50 compared with EUR 2.15 per Mbps for ADSL. Also, only four countries offer an average download speed above west European average, namely Sweden, Portugal, the Netherlands and France. All four offer a download speed higher than 47.36 Mbps on average. Norway, Switzerland and Denmark had the least value for money in terms of average price per Mbps.
