4iG acquires majority stake in Albania's Albtelecom

Hungary’s 4iG has signed a final agreement to acquire 80.27 percent of Albanian operator Albtelecom, which owns a fibre network and is also a mobile operator. As a result of the transaction, Turkish conglomerate Calik Holding will become an institutional investor in 4iG with a 3.2 percent stake.

The acquisition of a controlling majority stake in Albtelecom is expected to be closed in January 2022, subject to the approval of the Albanian authorities. Albtelecom has 168,000 fixed voice, 129,000 internet, 71,000 TV and 420,000 mobile subscribers.

Albania ended the fourth quarter with 3.48 million Sim cards in use, compared with 3.40 million in the previous quarter and 3.33 million the year before. 4iG closes Albtelecom sale after regulatory approval

Hungarian company 4iG has completed the acquisition of a 80.27 percent stake in Albanian telecom operator Albtelecom from Turkey's Calik Holding, after receiving the green light from the Albanian authorities. As part of the transaction, Calik Holding will carry out a capital increase of more than HUF 8 billion, acquiring less than 5 percent of 4iG. The remaining shareholders in Albtelecom are the Albanian Ministry of Economy (13.78%), the Albanian Post (2.47%) and otherss (3.48%).

4iG raises another HUF 85 bln in BGS bond issue

Hungar's 4iG offered HUF 85 billion of a 10-year bond issued in the framework of the Bond Funding for Growth Scheme (BGS) of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) at an auction held on 27 December, according to the Budapest Business Journal. The company raised HUF 291.4 billion at an auction of the same bonds on 15 December, under the nominal HUF 350 billion of the securities it had offered.

Hungary-based 4iG announced a final agreement to acquire Albanian One Telecommunications, the second-largest mobile operator in Albania with 1.36 million subscribers. The announcement comes soon after 4iG agreed to buy a majority stake in Albania's largest telecoms company, Albtelecom, which provides fixed and mobile services.

Digi Commmunications has finalised the deal to sell its Hungarian operations to Hungarian company 4iG for EUR 625 million. The preliminary agreement was annnounced in March, covering Digi Tavkozlesi Szolgaltato (Digi Hungary) and its subsidiaries Invitel, Digi Infrastruktura and I TV.

4iG sales up nearly 60% in first 9 months

Hungarian company 4iG saw its revenue exceed HUF 53 billion in the first nine months of 2021, an increase of 58 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The company said that the successful acquisitions of the past year greatly contributed to its growth, and the performance of the subsidiaries operating within the group significantly supported the favorable development of the group's sales revenue and profitability.

Rheinmetall acquires 25% stake in Hungary's 4iG and creates IT joint venture

Hungarian businessman Jaszai Gellert's investment firm KZF Vagyonkezelo has entered a tripartite preliminary agreement with 4iG and Germany's Rheinmetall. Jaszai owns a majority stake in 4iG. Under the agreement, Rheinmetall will acquire a 25.1 percent stake in 4iG though a share purchase and capital increase, making it 4iG's largest international strategic investor.

Hungary's 4iG acquires majority stake in Spacecom

Spacecom, the satellite services provider and owner-operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, announced that it and Hungary's 4iG entered an agreement under which 4iG will acquire a majority stake (51%) in Spacecom, through a private share placement. The transaction of USD 68 million represents a 50 percent premium over the average USD 2.6 price per share from the last six months trading average on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

Hungary's 4iG has entered into a preliminary, non-binding agreement to acquire 70 percent in TeleGroup, an IT systems integrator in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro active in Europe and the Middle East. The acquisition is expected to complete by end-December. With the successful completion of the acquisition, 4iG will enter the Balkan region.

4iG will become the owner of Invitech ICT Services after the company concluded a sales contract with ICT Services' owner, Cyprus-based Rotamona. The acquisition is a significant step in the implementation of 4iG's growth strategy in the telecommunications market, the company said. The transaction will close after obtaining clearance from the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH).

Albania's Albtelecom up for sale - report

The shareholders of Albanian telecom operator Albtelecom are looking into a sale of the company, according to information obtained by Mergermarket and reported by Albania's Monitor. They have contracted consulting company EY for this process, which is still at an early stage and has no deadline for completion. Two companies have so far expressed interest in acquiring Albtelecom, one of which is the Hungarian ICT services company 4iG.
