Abertis Telecom renamed Cellnex Telecom 

Spanish infrastructure company Abertis has announced that its terrestrial telecoms business, Abertis Telecom Terrestre, will operate as Cellnex Telecom, S.A. from 01 April. The brand will be “Cellnex” and its slogan will be “impulsamos la conectividad de las telecomunicaciones”  ("driving telecom connectivity”). In a statement, Abertis described Cellnex Telecom as a company with global ambitions that currently serves over 100 million people throughout Europe. It added that the new name and brand are part of the company's preparations for a potential stock market flotation, first announced in October in the context of the Abertis group's 2015-2017 business plan.

Abertis last month confirmed the acquisition of 90 percent of the mobile tower unit of Italian operator Wind for EUR 693 million, having previously acquired TowerCo, which operates the mobile towers located on Italy's toll road network, for a total of EUR 94.6 million. Following its Italian acquisitions, around 35 percent of the operator’s revenues now come from outside of Spain.

Cellnex Telecom valued at EUR 3.2 bln in IPO

Spanish infrastructure company Abertis has announced that it will sell a maximum of 66 percent of Cellnex Telecom, its recently rebranded telecoms subsidiary, at EUR 14 a share.
