AIS, DTAC, True refute collusion allegations
The three winners of 2.1 GHz spectrum in Thailand have jointly refuted allegations of collusion. Executives of Advanced Info Service (AIS), DTAC and True said they had remained silent about any allegations of bid collusion earlier, as they had to comply with the regulator's silent-period rule. However, they now have come out in a joint press conference to say there had not been any price collusion among the bidders. They also urged the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to issue the 3G licences, The Nation reports. Although the regulator has approved the auction result on 18 October, it has yet to issue the licences. The NBTC has set-up a committee to investigate allegations of irregularities in the bidding following criticism of the auction result.
