NBTC votes to issue 3G licences
The telecom committee of Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has voted to grant the 2.1 GHz licences to AIS, DTAC, and True. While the Ombudsman is still fighting the issue of the 3G licences, the regulator will issue the 15-year licences and has set the expiry data on 6 December 2027, The Nation reports. The Ombudsman said it will lodge an appeal with the court as soon as possible, following the dismissal of its petition to seek a review of the licence auction over alleged lack of free and fair competition.
