Altice shareholders approve EUR 1 bln share buyback plan
French telecom group Altice's shareholders have approved a EUR 1 billion share buyback programme for the next 3 years. Over 83 percent of the company's share capital was present or represented at the annual general meeting on 1 June where the financial statements for 2014 were approved.

Altice grows Q2 EBITDA 13% on French improvement

Altice reported second-quarter revenues down 2.0 percent from a year earlier to EUR 3.906 billion. Revenues in its largest market France fell 2.5 percent to EUR 2.775 billion, and revenues elsewhere declined 0.6 percent to EUR 1.131 billion. Altice to move holding company to Netherlands

Altice announced plans to shift its holding company to the Netherlands from Luxembourg. The company's shares are already listed in Amsterdam, and Altice said the move will strengthen the value of its shares as currency for acquisitions. The new company Altice NV will make an offer to acquire the shares of Altice SA, which is assigned an enterprise value of EUR 61.9 billion and equity value of EUR 32.5 billion. Drahi buys nearly 100,000 Altice shares

European telecom group Altice announced that its founder and chairman, Patrick Drahi has acquired 99,985 ordinary shares from Patrice Giami, an Altice manager. The transaction is expected to close by 6 July. Separately, AFP writes that based on the Altice closing share price of EUR 117.90 on 15 June, the transaction is worth around EUR 11.8 million.

Alcatel-Lucent's Combes steps down from Altice board

Altice announced in a one-line statement that Alcatel-Lucent CEO Michel Combes resigned from his position as an independent non-executive director on Altice's board on 19 May. The move comes shortly after Alcatel-Lucent agreed to a EUR 15.6 billion acquisition by Nokia, which is expected to be completed by early 2016. Combes has not said whether he will continue as an executive at Nokia.

Altice completes acquisition of PT Portugal

Brazilian operator Oi has announced that the sale by Oi of all shares issued by PT Portugal to Altice Portugal became effective on 02 June. Altice Portugal disbursed the total amount of EUR 5.789 billion for the acquisition of PT Portugal, of which EUR 4.920 billion were paid in cash to Oi and EUR 869 million were allocated to immediately repay outstanding indebtedness of PT Portugal in euros. Altice chooses Perella to advise on Cabovisao, Oni sale

France's Altice has selected Perella Weinberg as financial advisor on the planned sale of Portuguese operators Cabovisao and Oni, reports Diário Economico. Perella Weinberg had worked with the French company on the purchase of PT Portugal. Cabovisao was purchased for EUR 45 million and Altice hopes to sell it for up to EUR 300 million. Altice's Drahi says management wasn't ready for TWC takeover

Altice considered seriously a takeover bid for Dutch operator KPN, before deciding against the plan as the price was too high, L'Echo reports.
