Apple confirms iPhone press conference for 7 September
Apple is expected to introduce on 07 September the next iPhone. The company has confirmed the date in invitations sent out to the media for a presentation in San Francisco. 

The latest reports suggest Apple is varying its standard update schedule and will not launch a completely new design for the iPhone 7. Changes to the smartphone are expected to be more minor, such as an improved camera, speakers and start button. The next major overhaul of the smartphone won't come until 2017.

Apple revenues fall 15%, as iPhone, China sales drop

Apple reported revenues of USD 42.2 billion for its fiscal third quarter to June, down from USD 49.6 billion a year ago and towards the high end of its outlook of USD 41-43 billion. Apple to drop headphones plug on next iPhone - report

Apple will make few changes to its next iPhone to be released this autumn, with the only major difference losing the headphones jack, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal. Apple to use Intel chip for some iPhones - report

Apple's next iPhone will use modems from Intel, replacing Qualcomm chips in some versions of the new handset, Bloomberg reported, saying Apple wants to its supplier base. Apple has chosen Intel modem chips for the iPhone used on AT&T's US network and some other versions of the smartphone for overseas markets, sources said. Apple to open Siri to outside developers - report

The focus of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is expected to be on digital assistant Siri and on whether the company's best days are behind, the Wall Street Journal reported. At the conference, Apple plans to announce that it is opening Siri to outside developers, sources said.
