Apple loses bid for Samsung Galaxy Tab ban in Australia
Apple has lost its bid in the Australian High Court to stop sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tabs. Apple had asked for to have an injunction to stop the sale of the tablet PC in Australia re-instated after the Federal Court overturned the injunction recently. However, the High Court refused the request by Apple, The Australian writes. Apple alleges that certain features of the tablet PC's touchscreen infringe on patents the company holds for its iPad. The companies are embroiled in court battles in a number of countries.

Apple has asked the appeals court in Duesseldorf to ban sales of Samsung's tablet Galaxy Tab 10.1N. Samsung Electronics has filed new claims in its patent war with Apple over alleged patent infringements in Germany. The next generation of Apple's iPad is expected to be available in the next 3-4 months as makers in the supply chain have started delivering parts and components for the new tablets to OEM contractors while reducing those prepared for the iPad 2, writes daily newspaper DigiTimes citing sources in the supply chain.
