Samsung seeks deal with Apple in Australia

Samsung has offered Apple a deal which would allow the company to launch its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet PC in Australia while a hearing is taking place. Apple is seeking a temporary sales injunction in Australia ahead of a hearing which could go on for months. Apple has brought other cases against Samsung in a number of countries in which it argues that Samsung has copied the iPhone and iPad. If Apple accepts the agreement, Samsung would be able to launch the tablet in Australia within a week, Dow Jones Newswires writes citing Samsung's lawyer David Catterns. Details of the agreement were not disclosed but Apple's lawyer, Stephen Burley, said Apple would benefit from the agreement.
