Apple overtakes Xiaomi to regain wearables lead in Q3 - Canalys

Apple's launch of a smartwatch with cellular capabilities helped the company regain the lead for wrist-based wearables in the third quarter, shipping 3.9 million smartwatches compared to Xiaomi's 3.6 million and Fitbit's 3.5 million. Despite strong shipments, the Apple Watch Series 3 did not reach its full potential in the quarter, suffering from limited availability as demand outstripped supply in major markets. The report estimated that 800,000 of the Apple Watch units that shipped in Q3 were cellular-enabled even though the new Apple Watch Series 3 was only on sale for the last 10 days of
