Apple sells over 4 mln iPhone 4S in first weekend
Apple said it sold over 4 million of its new iPhone 4S smartphones in the first weekend of sales. That's more than double the number sold of its predecessor, the iPhone 4, in its first three days of sales. The new handset went on sale on 14 October in seven countries. In addition, Apple has rolled out iOS 5, the latest update to its mobile operating system, to over 25 million customers five days after its release. Of these, more than 20 million have signed up for the company's storage service iCloud. Apple will launch the iPhone 4S in another 22 countries on 28 October, and it will be available in more than 70 countries by year-end.
